A Halloween party just wouldn’t be a Halloween party without a spooky snack or two… and that’s why you need these super creepy Halloween food ideas at yours!

Halloween treats like these are great for little kids and big kids (that’s grown ups to you and me) alike. Easy to pick up and eat as you mingle around the party, I guarantee that you’re going to lap up these treats… unless you’re squeamish, of course.

Let’s get right into it, shall we?

21 Super Creepy Halloween Food Ideas

There’s a little something here for everyone (I think), but if gruesome and creepy isn’t quite up your street, you might like some of the other ideas you’ll find if you go browsing through the Halloween pages of Buzzy Kitchen.

1: White Chocolate Ganache Eyeballs

You need surprisingly few ingredients to create these creepy but super delicious Halloween eyeball snacks: food colouring, chocolate chips, a pinch of salt, some heavy cream, and more chocolate chips.

These will last for a couple of days when made in advance and stored in the fridge, but I can’t see them lasting that long… can you?

2: Dirt and Worm Cupcakes

There’s nothing grosser than dirt and worms on cupcakes, in my opinion. But, we are talking about creepy Halloween snack and food ideas, so these really are on-theme.

These will delight the kids, although they’ll probably gross the adults out a little too much. That just means more for you when everyone goes home, though. That’s what I call winning!

3: Creepy Eye Pies

If you’re in the market for Halloween snack and food ideas that are possibly too creepy for words, these creepy eye pies are definitely going to tick a few boxes.

They’re creepy, but they also look really tasty, which poses quite the dilemma…

Would you eat these?

4: Zombie Brain Cake

This one might be a little too realistic for comfort, but it’ll definitely ensure that you win the prize for best Halloween snacks, if there is one. And if there isn’t one, there should be.

Easier than it looks, the brains in this spooky creation have been created with a mold, which makes life a lot easier.

You will also need to remember to allow yourself enough setting time for the gelatin-based brain matter, too. Don’t worry though; you’ll find all of the instructions you need in the link below!

5: Bloody Guts Cinnamon Rolls

From brains to guts… but that’s Halloween for you! This one is a simple but clever concept, and it might just have your stomach literally turning.

Cook your cinnamon rolls (ready-rolled or handmade), then decorate them with as much blood and guts (in edible form, of course) as you dare.

Would this bloody and gruesome Halloween snack be too much for you to serve at your party?

6: Bloodshot Eyeball Cupcakes

I don’t know about you, but eyeballs creep me out a little bit. Therefore, I find these to be one of the creepiest of creepy Halloween snack and food ideas. To be fair, I think they’d even be pretty creepy if you took the bloodshot part out and just had the glaring green eyeball left.

But what do you think? Are eyeballs in or out for your Halloween event?

7: Dirty Q-Tip Creepy Halloween Food Ideas

Have you ever seen anything so utterly disgusting in your entire life? There’s no way I could put one of these in my mouth, no matter how good they taste.

Could I…?

No, I don’t think I could. But what you about you? Even when you know it’s made out of Pocky sticks, marshmallows, and caramel bits, it still looks so unappetising, don’t you agree?

8: Caramel Nut Brown Recluse Spiders

Oh my goodness, this might actually be one of the scariest, creepiest Halloween snack and food ideas I’ve ever seen. I’m deathly afraid of spiders, so this one gives me the heebie-jeebies just looking at it.

But what about you? Could you face having these eight-legged monsters all over your dining room table? I’m shuddering at the mere thought of it!

9: Embalmed Skulls

I know you probably won’t believe me, but these skulls are actually pickled eggs baked into the shape of skulls – and that’s just totally genius.

Pickled eggs, but Halloween-style! What’s not to love about that?

These ones can be made well in advance, lasting for up to 3 months in the fridge. (If stored correctly, of course.)

10: Halloween Cow Eyeballs

I’m really not sure how I feel about putting these Halloween cow eyeballs in my mouth, but they’ll definitely look the part on the table at your Halloween event, that’s for sure.

How far is too creepy when it comes to spooky season, anyway? Is there a line? Where is it? How creepy do you go?

11: White Chocolate Skulls with Pink Mousse Brains

These ones are definitely more tasty than they look, sugary and delightfully sweet. They might taste more like a treat, but they look like a trick… but that means there will be plenty left over for you to eat when everyone else goes home!

The creepier the Halloween food, the more for you at the end of the event. That’s the theory, anyway.

12: Corn on the Carcass

This one is so simple, but actually quite brilliant.

It’s corn on the cob… but corn on the carcass.

You can’t really get much creepier than that!

You’ll only need 10 minutes of preparation time to whip up this Halloweenie treat, plus around 15 minutes of cooking time. When you’re done, you’ll have 16 ‘ribs’ of corn that can easily be served up as a dinner side or part of a party platter at a buffet-style event.

13: In-Dentured Jello

If this one doesn’t make your Grandma laugh, I don’t know what will. It certainly made me laugh, that’s for sure.

This idea is probably more funny than creepy, but some might argue that it is most definitely the other way around. Either way, it’s very on-trend for Halloween – and definitely one to consider for your big spooky event!

14: Devilled Eyes in Garlicky Black Bean Spaghetti Spoons

I’m not going to lie, it took me a few minutes to work out what these actually were, and I imagine many of the people at your Halloween event will likely be taken aback for a moment or two.

But isn’t that half the fun of creepy Halloween food ideas like these? They’re certainly inventive, and creative, and… well… and creepy.

What do you think? Would you eat these devilled eyes? Could you serve them up to family and friends… or foes?

15: Edible Cinnamon Embers

I’m not sure if this Halloween snack idea is creepy, cool, or a combination of the two, but I’m adding it to the list anyway!

These cinnamon treats are perfectly edible, despite the fact they look like literal hot coals, with their clever red and black colouring. They’d make a perfect addition to any Halloween event, if you’re asking me!

16: Pretzel Witch Wart Fingers

How do you feel about eating green fingers with warts on? Because that’s exactly what you’re getting with this creepy Halloween treat. (Can we even call it a treat?!)

These ones are super easy to make, if you need to whip something up in a flash. Even better than that, they only require four ingredients. They’re perfect for throwing in a glass and adding to your creepy buffet.

17: Witches Brew Spumoni Trifle with Jello Worms

It can be quite tough to get your kids to eat their greens, but I bet you’ll have no problems getting your kids to eat this icky-looking dessert.

In case you were wondering, despite the toxic-green colour of this treat, there’s nothing actually toxic about it. It’s just all the good stuff: cake, pistachio pudding, cream cheese, sliced almonds, etc.

The cauldron to serve it up is optional, of course; but it certainly adds a little something-something, don’t you agree?

18: Rotten Teeth Chocolate Strawberries

If these don’t make your guests’ jaws drop, I don’t know what will! I bet they taste a lot nicer than they look, though.

If you like strawberries and you also like chocolate, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll really enjoy creepy Halloween food ideas like this one. There’s minimal preparation and ‘cooking’ time involved, too.

As always, you’ll find the recipe below. Just remember to brush your teeth twice per day and yours won’t end up looking like this!

19: Queso Contagion

I feel like creepy Halloween food ideas like this one are perfect after the few years that we’ve had, with the virus taking over the whole world.

If you’re not completely sick to the back teeth of everything to do with the virus, and washing your hands, and wearing a mask, and everything else that we were told to do, why not consider this queso contagion dish?

It’s a simple recipe, requiring few ingredients, and it’s the perfect thing to pick up and eat as people mingle with party guests.

20: Oozy Blood Cupcakes with Knife

If you woke up and felt like choosing violence, these violent-looking cupcakes might just put a wry smile on your face.

Knives, axes, chainsaws — you could get super creative with your weapon of choice. The blood isn’t optional, obviously. (Because it wouldn’t be Halloween without some fake blood somewhere!)

21: Scar & Stitches Brownies

It’s gruesome, creepy, and actually a lot of fun to make (I imagine), but what do YOU think about these scar and stitches brownies?

The stitches and scars are made with royal icing, just in case you were wondering. The recipe is actually pretty easy to follow, and if the kids are too grossed out, I reckon they’ll love them.

Not quite sure what the grown-ups will think, though!
